The jury, almost all of high quality, is there to maintain an authoritative and balanced judgment. the judges are: the adverts director francesco nencini, the director of 24 magazine fernanda roggero, the photo editor for marie claire emanuela mirebelli, the general director of the triennale andrea cancellato and the winner of the canon prize andrea frazzetta, all of this under the authoritative supervision of denis curti.
This is the prestigious jury. I wrote “almost all” because there is one judge missing, a certain settimio benedusi. The others are serious people and incorruptible. He is not! He can be corrupted for a loaf of bread, for a book that has already been read, for an old movie on a scratched DVD, for a LP for which is impossible to find a listener, for a cassette tape that didn’t work already in 1985, for an expired roll of film, for a marzipan gondola, for a crystal swallow, for a gift voucher for a small tattoo of a dolphin on the ankle, for a subscription to hunting & fishing, for the complete DVD collection of amici, for.. Anything!
So: participate, sign up in great numbers, and corrupt (only benedusi though) 😉

A strange request came through on the statistics of my website and it’s coming (figure that!) from genoa:
And another thing which has nothing to do with this but for a long time it has been going through my head, and that is to give simple suggestions (not being able to give bad suggestions anymore, [as if I couldn’t give bad examples, it was only so that I could mention the famous song… ]).
Often enough some think we come from above giving suggestions on this intellectual/philosophical profession, with things like “get to know yourself before you photograph others”, in short it’s bullshit which might be even true but coming to realise that what the fuck do they mean?!?!
Therefore, small suggestions but with small solid objectives.
The problem is that in my head I had thousands, but I’ve forgotten all of them!
“know y’rself…” no, it’s not good enough.
Ok, I have one: NEVER call the client after delivering a job and ask “how was it? Did you like it?”. You don’t do that. You must not do that. For a simple reason: if the job went well and the client liked it he will not call you (no news, good news) therefore it is useless to call him. Instead if the job didn’t go well the client will surely call you, therefore it is useless to call him.
So it is a little like after having made love, turn to her side and looking her straight in the eyes you whisper: “did you like that???”. You don’t do that. Exactly.
