ecco quindi il report gastronomico di oggi:
la città dove sono adesso, dalian, è sul mare. ho trovato quindi con felicità sicuramente il mio cibo preferito, il pesce.
sono stato a pranzo in un posto interessante.
un ristorante sul mare (in verità un mare grigio e melmoso, schifoso assai) dove all’entrata c’è questa specie di grande pescheria dove è possibile scegliere i pesci che poi verranno cucinati. in se non è una grande novità, sono stato in molti posti nel mondo con lo stesso sistema, ma qui la cosa incredibile è la quantità e “stranezza” delle specie presenti. strani pesci, granchi di tutte le dimensioni, cozze enormi (come la mia mano), interiora di pesci, ostriche, ricci grandissimi e piccolissimi, aragoste, teste di pesce, polipi, seppie…veramente di tutto e di più…
si sceglie e poi cucinano.
l’altra cosa curiosa è che il ristorante si sviluppa soprattutto al secondo piano, dove c’è un lungo corridoio che dà su tante piccole stanzette, dove si mangia.
passando davanti e buttando l’occhio su quelle aperte per far passare i camerieri, la scena che sempre mi si è presentata era quella di un tavolo rotondo con una grande vassoio di vetro nel mezzo rotante pienissimo di ogni tipo di cibo, intorno cinesi ciccioni ubriachi che mangiavano, fumavano e bevevano sgignazzando senza sosta.
anche noi siamo andati verso il nostro “privè”, però il nostro pranzo, con clienti, è stato molto più pacato.

i’ve been at an interesting place for lunch.
a restaurant by the sea (to tell you the truth a grey and marshy sea, rather revolting) where at the entrance there is this kind of big fish shop where one can choose the fish that is going to be cooked. it’s not something new, i’ve been in many places in the world that have the same concept, but here there is an incredible quantity and weird species. strange fish, crabs of all dimensions, enormous mussels (as big as my hand), entrails of fish, oysters, enormous and minute sea urchins, crayfish, head of fish, octopus, cuttlefish, everything and even more … you choose and then they cook.
the other peculiar thing is that the restaurant is mainly on the second floor, where along a corridor there are many small rooms, where people dine. walking along and looking inside those with open doors to allow the waiters in, i found this scene in front of me, a round table with a big glass rotating tray in the middle full of any kind of food, and around it big fat drunk chinese men, smoking, drinking and laughing without stopping.
we also went towards our own “prive’”, but our lunch with the clients has been far more relaxed.
